What does VELUX ACTIVE starter kit contain?
VELUX ACTIVE starter kit contains a gateway, one departure switch and one indoor climate sensor. With the starter kit you're able to monitor and control climate conditions and products of one room and place a departure switch near one exit.

How can I monitor indoor climate in more than one room?
VELUX ACTIVE starter kit includes one indoor climate sensor. You can purchase additional indoor climate sensors for each room with VELUX electric or solar-powered products and monitor air quality in several rooms.

What does a departure switch do?
A departure switch closes all VELUX electric or solar-powered roof windows that are connected to VELUX ACTIVE and enables secure ventilation through the window’s ventilation flap.

Do I need to purchase additional departure switches?
VELUX ACTIVE starter kit includes one departure switch. You can purchase additional departure switches for each exit.

What is the purpose of VELUX ACTIVE app?
Smart sensors of VELUX ACTIVE will monitor temperature, humidity and CO2 levels and operate your roof windows, blinds and shutters automatically. With the VELUX ACTIVE app, you're able to customize your preferences and operate connected products from anywhere using your smartphone. You'll get a quick overview of your indoor climate through the app and can check if any windows are open.

VELUX ACTIVE app is also needed for installation of the system. The app will guide you through the installation process.

You will need both VELUX ACTIVE starter kit and the free VELUX ACTIVE smartphone app to install VELUX ACTIVE. Let the app guide you step by step and install VELUX active in just ten minutes.

1. Download VELUX ACTIVE app, which will guide you through the installation process.
2. Plug in the gateway.
3. Pair the sensor and departure switch with the gateway.
4. Detect and add VELUX electric or solar-powered roof windows, blinds and shutters.
5. Use the app to name different areas in your home.

Got a manual VELUX centre-pivot roof window? Connect it with VELUX ACTIVE for healthier indoor air

It is possible to convert your manual VELUX centre-pivot roof window into a solar powered one and connect it with VELUX ACTIVE. To upgrade your manual window, you will need an easy-to-install upgrade kit. There are two different upgrade kits to choose from: one for windows produced since February 2014 and one for windows produced between April 1986 and January 2014.

When you’ve upgraded your window, you will need the VELUX ACTIVE starter kit and VELUX ACTIVE smartphone app to install VELUX ACTIVE.
